Restaurant Terms and Conditions
All reservations should be cancelled online, via the link in your confirmation email.
ATE table for 7 - 10 diners - 1 weeks' notice
POD and restaurant - The cancellation charge of £34 for lunch/£80 for dinner per person will apply for late cancellations (within 24h of the booking time) or no shows.
A party of over 6 will have a separate confirmation with a more detailed cancellation policy.
Amendments to Reservations
21212 cannot guarantee that requests to change numbers or times can be accommodated. Please check with the restaurant at least 48 hours in advance for availability for any changes to party size or time of booking.
Here at 21212, we take allergies and dietary requirements extremely seriously and we respectfully ask all diners to inform us of any food allergies in advance. We may therefore, reluctantly reserve the right to decide upon which set of allergies and dietary requirements we feel we can accommodate. As well as using nuts, dairy and gluten which can therefore leave traces, we do use tomato, garlic and onion in great abundance. To discuss any allergy concerns please contact us directly and we can make your booking with mutual consent and full understanding.
Our menu format and classical French structure unfortunately negates us from being able to accommodate vegan diets.
Please note POD and ATE are located on the first floor, which is only accessible by staircase. Being a Grade A listed building, we are not allowed an elevator.
Access to the building is via 5 steps and access to the main pavement from the road is via a very high kerb.
Please note, 21212 can only accept children from the age of 5 upwards and with prior notice. Due to licensing restrictions, children under the age of 5 are not permitted in the building at any time.
We reserve the right to cancel your booking if after attempting to confirm your reservation we have not heard back 12 hours prior to the reservation. For this reason, please ensure we have the correct phone number and email in which to contact you.
We kindly ask that your party arrives in full and ready to be seated at the time indicated in your booking confirmation as a delay may not be able to be accommodated. Please note lunch reservations after 1.30pm are time limited to a 4pm finish time, therefore, we cannot guarantee a 5 course lunch with wine pairings on bookings at 1.45pm or 2pm. Our 2pm table is also our last booking time, so please ensure you arrive no later.
Service charge at 21212 is at the discretion of our guests, however for group bookings of 6 or more, please note an optional charge of 10% is added to the final bill.
Bookings for 7-10 diners will be located on our private dining room on the first floor. Credit Card details are required to confirm a booking of this size, and we will contact you to provide this information once you have made a booking directly through email on [email protected].
All bookings for parties of 7 or more will be offered a set menu.

Google maps will try and send you over Calton Hill which is very steep. We suggest approaching the Royal Terrace via Leith Street or alternatively a more scenic route via Regent Street which is less steep and takes in some lovely views of Arthur’s Seat.
If you are arriving by car, Parking is available on-street. This is operated by Edinburgh Council and charges apply Monday to Friday with a maximum stay restriction of four hours. On-street parking is free of charge on Saturday. Alternatively the Omni Centre has a multi-storey car parking facility run by 'Q-Park'. This is located on Greenside Row, only 5-8 minutes walk from us.
Should you wish to fill out details to be kept in our mailing list, you may be contacted by a third party (such as TripAdvisor) to offer a review as a confirmed diner. There is no obligation to do such of course, and it would be a one off only.
